When students are actively and enthusiastically engaged in the classroom, they are able to create new ideas from the knowledge, skills, and information received and facilitated in the learning environment. Active learning provides a variety of opportunities for teachers to develop and embrace a paradigm shift in their everyday best practices. This includes designing and creating learning environments that highly encourage student autonomy, choice and voice, interdependence, critical thinking, small group learning, collaboration and communication, professional ethics, and culture, to name a few.
